Between 2021 and 2022 we developed the new CRGround software for the study of grounding systems in electrical installations, such as substations, supports, generators, etc.

It is a user-friendly and easy-to-use software, capable of accurately calculating, with a numerical method developed by the Inielectric group, the potentials in the ground and all the typical grounding parameters in installations.

The new CRGround software allows calculating the ground resistance and the Kr coefficient of any electrode in both uniform and two-layer soils with different resistivity. It also allows studying the potentials in the ground, safety values, step voltages, touch voltages, and voltages transferred to nearby conductive elements. All the results can be displayed in interactive graphs easily exportable for reporting. In addition, the software allows creating a self-report of the installation with all the basic sections and the calculation results.

In the development of this new software, great effort has been made to facilitate data entry and the program's usability. Thus, the entire electrode can be easily imported from AutoCAD or *.dxf files, and the toolbar and status bar can be used to proceed with a guided and explanatory calculation, step by step, comfortably and easily.

Once installed, the CRMagPLUS.exe executable can be found in the root directory CRGround.exe, from which a shortcut is created on the desktop. When the software starts for the first time, it will search for the device's license on our server. If not found, it will allow creating a license request to send by email to carrolbl@die.upv.es, including some data to identify the license in the future (for demo licenses, these data can simply be a name or alias, as they will automatically expire on the set date).

Since October 2022, the software can now be purchased in its commercial version. To purchase, an order must be placed using the forms that can be requested from carrolbl@die.upv.es.

The cost of a license for the new software is 800€ + IVA, this license is valid for one computer for an unlimited time while the product is not discontinued. Additional licenses for more devices can also be purchased at a reduced price of 500€ + IVA. Additionally, there is the option to purchase a temporary license, valid for 30 days, for an amount of 100€ + IVA.

Periodically, an online training course about grounding systems in electrical installations will also be offered, where the use of CRGround® will be explained in detail, and complete examples will be solved to illustrate the software's handling in real cases. Participation in the course will allow the use of the software in trial mode during the course, and a €100 discount for students and alumni when purchasing a perpetual license.
